Enrolling at Nursery
At Bright Bunnies Day Care we accept children from birth to five years and are registered for children up to 12 years old for holiday club during school breaks. We will endeavor to make our nursery accessible to all children and families from all sectors of the community and will try to accommodate all, taking into consideration equal opportunities and everyone’s diverse and individual needs.
Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. If the required sessions are not available, then the family will be placed on our waiting list and contacted when and if the space becomes available.
We offer 15 hours of Nursery Education Funding and the extended 30 hours to all 3 and 4-year-old children, commencing the term after their third birthday, as per LA guidelines. 2-year funding is available from the Local Authority but has limitations in place.
All prospective families are advised to attend a viewing of the nursery. This is an opportunity to ask any questions that they may have, see how the nursery works daily and meet the staff team.
Registration documents must be completed, signed and returned to nursery to secure the child’s space before their initial start date. By doing so, the space is then secure for the child and the family accepts the terms and conditions. During this registration period we also ask to see a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
We offer free settling in sessions before officially starting their place. Settling in sessions are arranged by the manager who will tailor the sessions to meet the family’s individual needs. During the visits the parent will have the opportunity to meet the team in their child’s room, discuss the child’s routine and any additional information such as medical needs are properly documented. The management team are available at any time to answer any questions at the registration process.
We try to make the transition into nursery as smooth as possible. We gather as much information about the child, from the parent or carer, during the settling in sessions. ‘Age and Stage’ questionnaires and ‘All about me’ forms are completed alongside a member of staff. During the first settling in session parents are asked to answer some settling in questions which provide the staff with basic care knowledge for the new starter; ensuring that all needs are met from day one.
